‘The Waridi’ in detail. ‘Waridi’ means ‘flower’ in Kiswahili. We named this jacket Waridi due to the colours we were experimenting with. Colours which are similar to the rose flower hence the prop. The design additionally draws inspiration from the Type 1 design with a little twist from TDC. Some key unique features include: 1. Use of a cropped torso which exposed the lower abdomen. 2. The combination of red denim fabric with dark green fabric to make the piece pop and stand out.
