At True Denim Collection (TDC), we are driven by a passion for craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural impact. Since our inception in 2017, we have grown from a small operation customizing thrifted denim jackets into a full-fledged, in-house manufacturing brand producing high-quality denim garments. Today, TDC is recognized for creating bespoke and custom denim pieces, from jackets to dresses, bucket hats, and jeans, all crafted with precision and care.
The Spark of TDC
It all began with a single challenge—a friend’s "cool blue Levi’s jacket" that seemed perfect but had untapped potential. Inspired by this blank canvas, we set out to transform second-hand denim into something more. With local tailors and scraps from old T-shirts, we created our first upcycled piece. This jacket became the foundation of what TDC would stand for: originality, craftsmanship, and a commitment to customization.
K1 Flea Market
The journey to K1 Flea Market wasn’t easy—multiple attempts, rejections, and almost giving up. But persistence paid off, and in September 2018, we finally secured a spot. K1 became more than a market; it was a community where we connected with fans of our upcycled denim. Every Sunday, we watched our following grow as people embraced our unique designs and the story behind each piece. This wasn’t just about selling jackets—it was about building a legacy in the heart of Nairobi.
TDC Experience
On 12/12/20, we launched the TDC Experience—an immersive blend of fashion, art, and music. It was more than a showcase of our upcycled creations; it was a celebration of creativity and community. Hosting live music events alongside our curated pieces allowed us to connect with our audience in a new way. Each event was a vibe, turning every gathering into a unique experience where art, music, and style converged. The TDC Experience became a space where our story resonated deeply with those who believed in our vision and this cemented our position as part of culture.

In August 2021, we took a bold step forward—moving from upcycling second-hand jackets to creating our own bespoke pieces. This shift marked the birth of TDC Originals, a collection that embodied our vision of sustainable luxury and craftsmanship. No longer limited by availability, we designed and produced each jacket from scratch, ensuring a balance between high-quality materials and our signature artistic touch. This new chapter allowed us to define our style on our own terms, turning TDC Originals into a true reflection of our journey from thrifters to creators

complexity of the design and current workload.
Yes, we offer free deliveries for every order within Nairobi. For larger distances or specific
conditions, a delivery fee may apply.
We begin with a fitting, where our in-house designer meets you at your convenience to take
measurements and discuss your design preferences. This includes color choices, fit (baggy or
slim), unique features, and any personal branding. Your bespoke item is then produced and
delivered within 3-5 days.

activations, corporate merchandising, etc.). We can produce 100+ pieces per project.
While TDC operates primarily online, we produce each piece on a per-order basis from our
workshop located at Maziwa Market. We plan to launch a retail space soon.
Yes, we deliver within Kenya through local couriers and internationally through global services
like DHL. Clients outside Nairobi or Kenya may not participate in in-person fittings, but we
accommodate by using sketches and measurements provided by your local tailor.
